Boisseuilh

North of Hautefort, from Boisseuilh, there is a nice view on Hautefort Castle. 2km south of the town, at the end of an alley that separates RD 72, stands Boisseuilh Castle. Its rectangular main building, arched windows, Mansart roof and the harmony of its lines give it classic elegance.

Saint-Valery church is an interesting Romanesque building. Its facade has a classical portal surmounted with an oculus and a bell tower wall with two windows from the XIVth century, renovated in the XVIIth century. It houses a beautiful statue of the patron saint and a few remains from the Abbey of Dalon.
50m below the church (Road to Ste-Trie) is a miraculous fountain, fountain St Valery, the waters of which heal the eyes.

More

Boisseuilh is a surprising little village with red houses because of the stones used for the construction. You will get a wonderful view of Hautefort's castle from there.
