Cherveix-Cubas

5 km away from Hautefort and its castle, where Marie de Hautefort, the beloved of Louis XIII, stayed. A gentle land, Cherveix-Cubas lives quietly in a plain surrounded with hills, where the Auvézère waters spring from gorges to join the Lourde. A wonderful location for fishing, great hiking, canoeing ...
Cubas XIIth century church is a fine example of Romanesque art. In the cemetery, one can see a lantern of the dead, listed as Historic Monument. Cherveix church dates from the XVIIth century. It houses a Saint Roch bas-relief from the same period.

St-Martial Laborie Romanesque church, with a dome, is listed as Historic Monument with its monolithic altar, its immersion baptismal, Ste-Valérie and her prie-Dieu, registered with Mobiliers de France.
