HAUTEFORT AREA PRESENTATION

If there is one land that stands for history, culture and harmony, it is that of Hautefort.
If you love old stones, well-preserved natural settings, and gourmet food, you will love this area. At the crossroads of three Périgords — black, white and green— Hautefort is a delight for body and mind.
Here, history has never ceased its continuum. The stones are witness to this history: the castle and its landscaped grounds, the ramparts, and the village's narrow streets — bursting with greenery and flowers — all tell its tale. Here, memories of the Périgord’s great literary figures, Bertrand de Born and Eugène le Roy, remain intense.
This is an extremely rich land where life is sweet and dreariness is impossible!

We are particularly lucky to have such an extraordinary topography. Outdoor activities abound in the area… The only hard part is to choose!
Here, holidays are all about sensory indulgence and enrichment: hiking paths, theme circuits, the discovery of an exceptional heritage, farm-to-farm rambles, gourmet evenings, open-air theatre and cinema, weaving workshops, the medical museum, the Tourtoirac cave, and of course Hautefort castle and its (listed) French-style gardens.
The Hautefort area enjoys an extraordinary environment and climate offering a large range of local gourmet products, from the fattened black duck to walnuts and truffles.
During your stay, you'll delight in our specialities: take our word for it!
